The Great Yorkshire Shop and Giant Kitten
Hello everyone!
As I've mentioned in a previous post I recently discovered two shops in the Corn Exchange, Leeds- The Great Yorkshire Shop and Giant Kitten. They were both really unique and I just knew I should share them with you in case you find yourself in the area.
Giant Kitten sells everything from jewellery to candy and stocks a lot of American and Japanese goodies. As far as I'm aware it used to be named Culture Vulture which was a long time favourite shop in Leeds when I was a lot younger (we're talking 16 here, when everyone was really into Japanese candy and anime). I found out about Giant Kitten from a friend who had purchased blind box fall Pusheens from them and just had to go!
So after pottering around the Corn Exchange a little more I came across The Great Yorkshire Shop which I'd never heard of or seen before.
I saw a Yorkshire Tea apron outside and was sold instantly!
The Great Yorkshire Shop is a fantastic place supporting local businesses and features everything from silly Yorkshire-English books, handmade soap and beautiful chutneys and jams.
As a proud 'Yorkshire lass' I really enjoyed looking around this little shop and I found some of the merchandise funnier than I probably should (such as the 'Chuffin Eck' print) but I guess that's just my type of humour. It's a shame it's not featured closer to the tourist centre as I think it would do really well there as it's full of unique traditional northern things that tourists would love.
I'm happy that these little stores exist as they make me so proud to be from Yorkshire.
We may confuse you with our weird words and not using 'the' in sentences but we have great food (Yorkshire puds, Wenslydale cheese and rhubarb) and we love to complain. We're kind of charming...in a weird way.
Hopefully you check these awesome stores out if you're in the area!
Thank you for reading, speak soon!
Becca Jayne.

Just look at the cute Pusheens and Gudetama cards!
I picked up two fall blind box plushies and got my two favourites, the ghost and the candy corn, they're so cute! So after pottering around the Corn Exchange a little more I came across The Great Yorkshire Shop which I'd never heard of or seen before.
