Ten Minute Review: Yorkshire Soap Company's Rhubarb and Custard Glycerine Soap
Today I'm reviewing the Rhubarb and Custard glycerine bar from the Yorkshire Soap Company (YSC).
I've been a fan of the YSC for a while now but you may not have seen their lovely stores as they're solely based in Yorkshire (of course). I'd say they're best known for their soap cakes and cupcakes as well as their brilliant new unicorn range, which I am yet to try (watch this space).
The Yorkshire Soap company have been making soap since 2004 and now have wonderful shops in York, Leeds, Knaresborough, Hebden Bridge and Beverley. If you're in the area, please go check them out or have a look online: YSC Website.
So, on to the product....Rhubarb is one of my all time favourite fruits (though botanically it's a vegetable) and I adore the scent so was immediately hooked on this soap slice.
How to use: Massage onto skin, lather and rinse. Suitable for body and hands.
Price: £3.50 (100g)
Formulated with vegetable glycerine these soaps are gentle on the skin and very moisturising so can be beneficial for those with sensitive skin. These bars are also handmade and suitable for vegetarians.
These glycerine bars are the best smelling and best lathering soaps I've ever tried. Before I discovered the YSC I would purchase soaps from Lush but in comparison Lush soaps just don't lather, and this is a bit of a deal breaker for me. YSC produce a lot of different soaps and I've found that they all smell incredible and lather really well.
Positives aside, a few of the glycerine bars tend to separate if you apply some pressure or if you leave the bars in water for a short period; this only applies to the Rhubarb and Custard, Raspberry Ripple and Strawberries and Cream bars (all of these have a similar swirl topper). Just something to be aware of but definitely not a deal breaker!
All in all, I really love these glycerine bars and I'd rate this scent a 4.5 out of 5.
Thank you Marcus and Warren for creating such a wonderful shop, your staff are all so lovely and your soap cakes look good enough to eat!
Thank you for reading this review, speak soon!
